Networking Event

The ISTH 2017 Congress Networking Evening is scheduled for Wednesday, July 12 at 19:00. This event will take place at the Tempodrom where you will have the opportunity to network with friends and colleagues. Learn more.
 

Awards and Grants

The ISTH offers two different awards that are provided in the form of travel grants. The Young Investigator Award and Reach-the-World Award are available to those who are first authors on an abstract. Click here to learn more. ​
 

Badge Reprint or Name Change

A handling fee of 50 EUR will be charged for every name change to an existing conference registration. A new registration form for the substitute attendee should be submitted, as well as a proof for the reduced fee if applicable. Name changes will only be accepted until the pre-registration deadline indicating clearly the new and old name. After the pre-registration deadline, all name changes must be carried out on-site.
​
If an attendee loses, misplaces or forgets the name badge, a handling fee of 10 EUR will be charged for a new name badge. Upon handing out a new name badge, the lost badge will become invalid. 
 

Cancellations

Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent to the K.I.T. Group Registration Department by email or fax (+49 30 24 60 3-267). The notification must include all the relevant information regarding the bank account to which a possible refund may be remitted. For cancellations received before Thursday, June 7, 2017 deposits will be refunded less 100.00 EUR for administrative costs. After this date, no ​refunds will be possible.  The same applies for cancellation of additional sessions and orders (e.g. Master Classes, Career Development Classes, printed copy of program book, ISTH 2017 Congress Networking Event etc.). Credit will not be given for unattended events or early termination of attendance.
 

Dietary Requirements

​Please indicate on the registration form any dietary requirements such as vegetarian or life threatening allergy.  The organizer cannot guarantee that all allergies can be considered and the responsibility remains with the delegate.
 

Group Registration

​Group registration is available for groups of 10 or more.  There are no special group registration fees or discounts. One group manager must be designated as the point of contact.

Start group registration here. Full payment must be received by the applicable registration deadline in order to receive the appropriate registration rate. Upon receipt of your group registration, the ISTH Registration Department will send you an excel sheet template with which you can communicate the details of your group members. Group member details should be submitted via email to [email protected] by Thursday, June 22 , 2016.

Insurance and Liability

​It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health and accident insurance before they depart from their countries. ISTH and K.I.T. as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to private property belonging to the congress participants and accompanying persons.
 

ISTH Membership

Letter of Invitation

There is a section on the registration process for attendees who need a letter of invitation. If you need a letter of invitation in order to complete your visa application process, please indicate this in the appropriate place during the registration process. Letters of Invitation will not be sent after the late registration deadline of July 6, 2017. For more information on German visas, please see this page.
 

Master Classes

The Master Class Sessions are specifically targeted to Young Investigator and Reach-the-World participants which allow them to meet with a leader in the field, well-known and established investigator, to ask questions, get career advice and possibly establish life-long connections, an important aspect of the ISTH.  Situated in small groups (25 per class), the session leader will be asked to give a short introduction (5 minutes), after which there will be an interactive exchange of questions and a discussion. Master Classes will be held each morning, Sunday July 9 – Wednesday July 12, 2017, from 07:00 – 07:45 at the City Cube Congress Center and continental breakfast will be provided.
 
Registration for Master Classes is complimentary on a “first come-first served” basis.  Participants may sign up for one Master Class during the 2017 Congress by selecting from the list during the registration process. Please be sure to arrive on-time as to not disrupt the session.  If you have not arrived to the session by 7:10 your seat may be given up to a participant on the waiting list.
 

Career Development Small Group Sessions - Available in April

The ISTH Career Development Small Group Sessions are targeted to clinical and research fellows, postdoctoral researchers, as well as faculty in the early stages of their career.  Each group will consist of young investigators with similar career interests allowing them to meet with a leader in the field, well-known and established investigator, to ask questions, get career advice and possibly establish life-long connections, an important aspect of the ISTH.  Situated in small groups (no more than 10 per session), the session leader will be asked to give a short introduction (5 minutes), after which there will be an interactive exchange of questions and a discussion. Career Development Sessions will be held each afternoon, Monday, July 10 – Wednesday, July 12, from 13:15 – 14:15 at the City Cube Congress Center and lunch will be provided.
 
Registration for Career Development Small Group Sessions is complimentary on a “first come-first served” basis.  Participants may sign up for one Career Development  after they are announced in April. Please be sure to arrive on-time as to not disrupt the session.  If you have not arrived to the session by 13:25 your seat may be given up to a participant on the waiting list.
 

Method of Payment

The full payment of your registration is requested when registering. No confirmation will be sent until K.I.T. has received the payment.
Payment should be made in EUR only, using one of the following methods:

Credit card payments are processed in Germany and may be flagged as an international transaction by your credit card company resulting in a declined transaction.  It is recommended that you authorize the payment in advance with your credit card company before starting the online registration process. 

​Checks will not be accepted.
 

Registration Confirmation

​A confirmation of registration and payment status will be sent to the individual or company that requests registration. Confirmation will be sent only when the corresponding payment is received. Participants should bring the letter of confirmation to the registration desk at the meeting venue when collecting their documents.

Visas

​It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to take care of his/her visa requirements. Attendees who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure. Attendees should contact the nearest embassy or consulate to determine the appropriate timing of their visa applications. The organizers will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants.

The registration fee minus a handling fee of 50 EUR will be refunded after the conference if the visa was applied for in time, and an official proof of the embassy confirming that a visa could not be granted, is forwarded to the K.I.T. Group Registration Department.
