Statement from the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH)
CHAPEL HILL, NC, USA, June 23, 2017 - It is with the deepest apologies of the ISTH that Roche experienced an embargo breach of its groundbreaking hemophilia announcement at 9:00 a.m. CET following the launch of the ISTH app and the release of abstracts via the app. This was an unfortunate technology error via the vendor and as a result, the abstract was available from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. CET. The embargoed abstract was removed as quickly as possible. At this time, we are unable to pinpoint by who and how many times the abstract was viewed, but it appears that the app itself was downloaded about 200 times. The ISTH is strongly committed to following all embargoes placed on scientific research and working closely with companies, publications and journalists to ensure that embargoes are strictly followed.
